Dr. Amit Pokharel, PhD, PE, PACP — Founder & CEO
Dr. Pokharel is a licensed Professional Engineer with nearly a decade of combined industry and research leadership in civil and structural engineering. He holds a PhD in Civil Engineering from the University of Texas at Arlington, where his doctoral research applied machine learning to service-life prediction for underground infrastructure, and he continues that work today as an Assistant Professor of Research at UT Arlington — an active research role that keeps his engineering practice current with the latest methods in infrastructure assessment and structural analysis.
His background spans finite element analysis of buried pipe and structural systems, multi-sensor infrastructure inspection, and project management, including leading a 30-member team through the repair and rehabilitation of 24 earthquake-damaged highway bridges in Nepal. He founded Eight Peaks Engineering to bring that same combination of technical rigor and hands-on delivery to clients directly.
